I have to PEE!

Naturally, you would think that the airport in Boston on Thanksgiving Eve would be tightly packed. College kids traveling home, working professionals visiting families, it only makes sense that the airport would be a happening place. Well, apparently that was the case for every airline EXCEPT for Spirit (not surprising, spirit is low-key awful). This was great news for me today though, because I was traveling through Spirit to the Sunshine State and I got through check in and security within ten minutes of getting to the airport. I was left with two hours until boarding, so I watched the “Bon Iver, 22 a million press conference” on the youtube - which left me in tears and I will have to expand upon in another post because Justin Vernon is simply brilliant and deserves to be praised.

ANYWAY, this also meant I had time to get a coffee and a muffin which resulted in both a positive and a negative. The positive is that I am feeling alive and energized, however, the people next to me on this flight are definitely not. This is a negative mostly because I am at the window seat with two people in deep slumbers, and therefore trapped. This would not be an issue if I did not drink the coffee which makes me have to pee every five minutes. Truly a curse. I already had to wake them both up once, and now it is maybe a little over twenty minutes later - they are back lost in deep waves of sleep - and I am severely struggling trying to sit still in my seat and not bother them. I got a dirty look the other time, imagine if I did it again…. they would one hundred percent despise me. So here I am trying to distract my brain and body.

Breathing exercises.

Bukowski.

Music.

Very select music because this plane does not have wifi, leaving me to to my iTunes selection witch right now is only Danndelion songs from 2001 (Ooh Baby Baby) and voice memo archives.

But actually, I’m doing everything I can to keep my mind off of my blatter.

(Not working very well, as you can tell)

I just got so excited because they both woke up for a second! I was a pinch away from doing it.

but yes, you guessed right; they are back asleep. excuse me while i gently cry.

NO!

my laptop is about to die, that means my music is about to be gone as well, and so is my dignity, let them hate me, i have to pee.

Might Be A Morning Poem —- Maybe Just Random 6:45 Thoughts

Right now is is 6:45am and I have already been awake for a half hour

comfortably.

This has not happened since high school and I am slightly amazed.

I tend to think I am nocturnal and have a slight case of nyctophilia, however, a dark sunrise this morning awoke me and somehow I haven’t gone back to sleep yet so I think this is going to be a thing today.

There is something about the morning that is so fresh and energizing that I rarely experience

I think I should do this morning thing more often.

24K Magic - Album Review

So.... Bruno Mars, pop genius, gifted us his new album, 24K Magic, yesterday, and I have some thoughts on it. Being a fan of Mars's previous works I went into to the listening experience of this album with high expectations, and I was not disappointed. His use of funk grooves and pop melodies leaves the listener filled with pure joy fresh feeling that is rarely matched in this age of music. The way the harmonies and background vocals contribute to the music makes you feel involved and really helps you not just listen but experience the music. Bruno has this way of telling you exactly what he wants you to do and it makes you let go of your self conscious and be one with the music, aka pure magic. You start to really feel that in the second and third songs of the album, "Chunky" and "Perm". Golden.

Starting from the beginning with "24K Magic" you KNOW it's about to be a good time. When Bruno originally released this single it got me so excited that he was was expanding upon his "Uptown Funk" epidemic that I could not wait to hear the rest of the album. However, it was the 4th song, "That's What I Like", that really did it for me. This song has this bounce that not just makes you want to dance, but makes you NEED to dance. Every single section of the song is hook driven and memorable without loosing the musicality and integrity of the song. It is definitely my favorite song on the album and I hope it goes on to be a hit because I think the world would really benefit from that song being a hit quite honestly.

The album goes on to unfold beautifully with more emotion filled songs such as "Versace on the Floor" and "Too Good To Say Goodbye" - which pretty much is the song every girl wants a guy to write about them at some point, similarly to his hit "When I Was Your Man". (Yes, he did it again.)

Bottom line is you need to listen to this album. All the way through. The magic is not just within one song but in the whole album. It is not just for the pop enthusiasts, like myself, but for everyone who appreciates a good groove. Listen and let me know what you think, I am genuinely interested in what others think about this album!
